Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor speaking, consultant, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter, she exited from the business. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 investment that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and also a housekeeper. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran’s childhood. Sometimes, the family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a local grocery store. Corcoran states her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran was struggling at school and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended a Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
